The German magazine Falstaff awarded Ca’ De’ Rocchi Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Dop “Monterè” 2018 90 points at the Falstaff Valpolicella Trophy!
Falstaff is one of the most influential magazines in the German wine world and it reviewed numerous wines from all over Italy, including various Tinazzi products from Veneto and Puglia.
The grapes used for Valpolicella Ripasso – Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella – are harvested in October and taken to the pressing cellar in Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. They are then soft-crushed and destemmed, fermented with maceration at 20-24 °C and soft pressed. The wine obtained in late December is “added” to Amarone skins. Ageing is carried out in 5-20 hl French and American oak barrels for 12 months.
Bright red in colour with an aromatic explosion of red fruits, from cherries to black cherries, with spicy and balsamic notes. Assertive palate with a soft and balanced tannin. Suitable for autumn risottos (mushrooms or radicchio) or meat dishes.
